The Hall of Fame quarterback, whose high-living party lifestyle earned the flamboyant stud the nickname Broadway Joe, has personally given Gyllenhall the OK to play him in the untitled film. Producer Andrew Lazar has been trying to get the movie rights to Namath's life for years, according to trade paper Daily Variety.
